Enable non-EU visitors reclaim VAT paid in your store.

With Tax Free, eligible merchants can now offer tourists from outside the EU a convenient way to reclaim VAT on certain shopping during their visit to Ireland. The service works by using your AIBMS terminal to identify eligible customers at the point of sale and to offer them a custom-printed VAT reclaim form.

The customer may then reclaim their VAT by completing the reclaim form and sending it for processing - in a freepost envelope - or by dropping it off to our partner, Tax Free Worldwide, at Dublin and Shannon airports. Tax Free Worldwide, will then process their claim form and refund their VAT (less an administration fee) after their holiday, once the criteria of the scheme have been met.

Merchants offering Tax Free also receive a referral commission from Tax Free Worldwide for each claim fully and correctly processed. Tax Free is available to eligible merchants based on the rules for the Tax-Free Shopping for Tourists scheme as set out by the Revenue Commissioners.
